Also known as the papaw, the papaya is known all over the world for its refreshing and sweet taste. However, that slice of papaya can do more than whiten your skin and refresh you on a hot summer day.

 Healthy Papayas

A papaya can give you tons of health benefits. It detoxifies your body and is good for your spleen, blood, and lungs. Those who are recuperating from malaria are also advised to eat papayas regularly to help the liver functions recover. Eating papayas can also treat phlegm and constipation. Mashing them with milk and other ingredients, on the other hand, are used to treat other digestive illnesses in the body.

For example, cooking papayas with yams, medlars, and porridge can cure indigestion and constipation. Grinding papayas with milk and honey is believed to slow down aging and to increase the milk in breastfeeding women. Green papayas are often mixed with meat to make a delicious stew. Because of their vitamin C and vitamin A content, they boost the resistance of the body, nourish the skin, and fight the oxidation process.

To treat pimples, papayas can be grinded and used as a facial mask. Eating ripe papayas, on the other hand, on an empty stomach in the morning for three to five consecutive days can kill pinworms. Those who suffer from anxiety and sleeplessness can drink ripe papayas with bananas, carrots, coconut milk, and honey once every two days. For chronic stomach inflammation, simmer papayas with apples and sugarcanes.

Numerous studies show that 100g of papaya has 74 to 80 mg of vitamin C, 500 to 1250 international units of carotene, vitamins B1 and B2, and minerals like calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium, and potassium. It also supplies lots of energy so people with high blood sugar or diabetes are not advised to eat many papayas.

So the next time you are served with papayas, do not think that they are just for skin whitening! Instead, think of the many health benefits and wonders that papayas can bring.
